Founding Story

My journey starts here! When I was 18 years old, my father had a prolonged fever. As the condition was a bit serious, he got admitted in the critical care unit. Yes, that was the turning point of my life. One morning, a nurse asked me to arrange 6 units of A+ve blood for my father, hearing this I was stressed out "6 units!! why??" She replied, " Yes, your father's situation is a little serious. He has a very low platelet count. So he requires 6 units of blood every day and has to get transfused immediately in order to reduce the complications. I got my breath caught.I don't know what to do.I tried to connect with my friends & family members and somehow managed. But within a few days, I struggled a lot.For the first time in my life, I realized how important the blood is and how difficult is to get a cross-matched one. On that day, in front of the ICU, I took a strong decision.I should do something to resolve the problem because every 15 minutes someone is suffering from hematological problems and might in need of blood or its products transfusion.

As a youngster and as the representative of the upcoming generation, it's my duty to find some solutions to the problem. This made my nights sleepless. I thought a lot and ended up in a decision to make a Facebook group, FB BLOOD BANK, and added all my friends, through them their friends also. And the network begins here. If anyone has a blood request, they can post the details in the group and can find donors easily. Later on, the membership got doubled.. tripled..and grew up. It helped a lot of people. This inspired me to create a website allowing blood donors to register and store their data to make the process easier.Now it's been 12 years and I am proud of the last 12 years of journey.I am happy for the smiling faces at me.
